Linda Roman
1st Vice-President
A lifelong Democrat, I used to vote for who I thought was the most qualified, but in recent years, I see the absolute necessity to always vote a straight Democratic ticket. Like so many of us, I did not actively participate in politics until I retired, which is why I share the message that when we have the time, we need to devote ourselves to worthwhile causes. I previously served DWC as the membership chair. I also served on the events committee for DEC (Democratic Executive Committee).
A native New Yorker who moved to Tampa as a child in the 1960s, I relocated to Sebring in 1994 to be the Director of Community Relations at the local college. With a journalism degree from the University of South Florida, I later found myself teaching middle school language arts in Avon Park for 15 years. I ended my career as a college success coach for Take Stock in Children.
