About the event
The Highlands County Democratic Women's Club will meet on Saturday, June 27. At 10:30 we will introduce our featured speaker, Kristen Carlson, Speakers Bureau Coordinator for the League of Women Voters of Polk County. LWV of Florida has been a major participant in legal opposition to Florida's newly enacted congressional map. Kristan will explain the strategy & status of legal measures.
Kristan is an attorney with experience in the private and public sectors. In the public sector, she worked as a prosecutor in Pasco County, served as general counsel to the Florida Department of Citrus and as Chief Counsel to District1 Florida Department of Transportation. In private practice, she has served as general counselor to the National Juice Products Association and as Executive Director of the Florida Citrus Processors Assn and the Citrus Research and Field Trial Foundation.
