Highlands County Democratic Women’s Club September Meeting
The Highlands County Democratic Women’s Club will meet at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
Our featured speaker will be Jacqueline Singleton of Sebring, She is a survivor of childhood polio and has spent much of her adult life living with the resulting lung damage. Jacqueline has served as president of the Post-Polio Resource Group of Central Florida for 40 years.
Despite the challenges posed by her disability, Jacqueline has maintained an active and engaged life, pursuing a wide range of intellectual and creative interests. She will speak with us about changes the Trump Administration has made to the (ADA) Disability Accommodations & Accessibility Policies. She will highlight the direct impact those changes have on the lives of persons with disabilities.
Jacqueline is a former nurse and medical technologist. Her interests include historical costuming, linguistics, history, and amateur radio. She has taught costume design, music,…
